The Bike MS: Weekend Ride Around the Hills 2009 is a two-day ride in the beautiful Southern Black Hills and has been called one of the most challenging Bike MS events in the nation. If you are curious about what you should do to train for this challenging ride, contact one of our veteran volunteer riders, Phil or Steve, to help you with a training plan! The WRATH will start and finish in historic Keystone, SD and will take cyclists through granite outcroppings on the Needles Highway, over pigtail bridges on Iron Mountain Road and past Mt. Rushmore National Monument.
The WRATH features various route options to accommodate riders of all skill levels. Cyclists can ride as little as 45 miles over the two-day event or challenge themselves and tackle over 170 miles and more than 14,900 feet of climbing. Along the route, riders will be treated to snacks and beverages approximately every 10 miles as well as bike repair experts and support vehicles. On Saturday evening, a banquet is held for all riders, volunteers and their families.
Bike MS is an opportunity to move yourself and help move us closer to a world without multiple sclerosis. Over 400,000 American families must deal with the uncertainties of multiple sclerosis each day. People with MS may experience numbness, blindness, loss of mobility or cognitive issues. These people know that moving is not a guarantee. MS can stop people from moving. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists to make sure it doesn't. Learn how.
